John R. Ascenzo is General Counsel of Milestone. He is responsible for all legal matters for Milestone including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, compliance, corporate policy initiatives and general corporate counsel. In addition, Mr. Ascenzo is responsible for supervising outside counsel in Milestone’s various transactions and legal proceedings.  Mr. Ascenzo has spent his career practicing corporate transactional law, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and real estate. Mr. Ascenzo was with Vinson & Elkins LLP for approximately six years representing buyers and sellers in domestic and international merger and acquisition transactions across a variety of industries, representing private equity funds and investors in private equity investment, joint ventures and recapitalization transactions, and representing other clients on a variety of general corporate matters. Before joining Vinson & Elkins LLP, Mr. Ascenzo was an associate attorney with the law firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. Mr. Ascenzo is admitted to practice law in Texas and North Carolina and is a member of the Dallas Bar Association.

Mr. Ascenzo graduated from the University of Virginia (B.A.) and Villanova University School of Law (J.D.). He is a member of the state bars of North Carolina and Texas.
